Week 1
Map : de_inferno
Opposition : [CRO]
Weve played CRO plenty of times before and we felt it was going to be a comfortable win.
Quickscope thought otherwise..
Division 10 by avaLanche
A Division notorious for their fair play and good fun games. From here we have teams that revolve around the community aspect and take part mostly in good nature rather than to “frag randomners” etc. Some names that have been around for a while are MAG (Middle Aged Gamers) and of course theres another SDCSS team taking part. DoG whom I remember playing years ago in the Open Ladder and still seem to be going though under a varied lineup I imagine.
Favourites to win in this group? I’d like to see one of the Froody Teams do well and I suspect the SDCSS² team could perform pretty well too!
: DoG : – CRO (14-16)
[FP] – str!ve (18-12)
[D] – SDCSS² (8-22)
MAG – bn (15-15)
So.
We go into the 1st week as underdogs, and TBH thats how i prefer it, less pressure especially how our recent form has been rather poor as of late.
RESULT : DoG 23 v 7 [CRO]
Rather comfortable win, Quickscope were miles out and the result left us thinking that we must be favourites for the next game.
oh how wrong were we...
Week 2
MAP: de_cpl_strike
Opposition: [MAG]
We had recently played [MAG] on D2 ED official and TBH, it wasnt our best performance by FAR. We ended up losing to them 16-14.
Now we wanted revenge and after a few training days and a few good games on strike we felt confident enough to win this comfortably again.
Quickscope thought otherwise, again..
Division 10 by avaLanche
MAG had a close game last week coming out just on top and I fancy something similar for them this week. I think DoG might struggle on the map choices this year also. I fancy the CRO – Froody game to be a deadneck game and I don’t think I could pick a winner from either, so I’ll remain neutral! In the other hotly contested fixture my favourites for the title SDCSS² are playing str!ve, A side which seem to favour dust2 too much. A factor in their demise this week I believe.
(10) ARK v SD:css2 (20)
(15) [FP] v [CRO] (15)
(16) [D] v [bn] (14)
(17) [MAG] v : |DoG| : (13)
RESULT: DoG 25 v 5 [MAG]
We worked very well as T's working mid to gain picks on B short and A, aswell as some great pushing through A apps helping us to break into site easily.
CT half was pretty much locked down with a 3-1-1 formation.
Great game chaps.
At the risk of sounding rather repetitive, again we felt the next game has to be in our favour.
Quickscope didnt...
Week 3
Map: de_train
Opposition: [FP]
Now into week 3 and only DoG and FP have a 100% win record left in our division.
albeit they got there 1st win through default due to a team dropping out.
When we have played Froody teams in the past we have always struggled, and Train is by far my most hated map ( apart from cbble ) so at the start of the week i knew we had some work to do.
1st warmup games on wednesday were awful, we lost both of them heavily so the next day i went looking for some pro demos to help work out how to lock down main alot better.
The next set of games were 200% better with great picks on t half and a total lock down as CT's, we even managed to beat a top 40 team which shows that we are finnaly getting back on track.
This is what quickscope said..
So 2 weeks in and by and large my predictions have been right. DoG have been quite surprising so far, notching up an impressive 25-5 scoreline on strike, and reports seem to show they had been prepared for it. Froody Pirates have been doing exactly as I anticipated and still are my favourites to take the title. This week sees us back to normal regulation maps in the form of de_train, and gives us the early matchup of DoG vs FP with only one (or potentially no) 100% records being left at the end of this week it will definitely shake up the division. I fancy FP to take this quite easily though they haven’t played train in a while, infact over a year according to ED! In the other matchups SDCSS² take on CRO; SDCSS² were my favourites from the start but they have been playing poorly so far this season, something I can’t put it down to, so I think this might be a tough time against CRO. Doomcraft have had a bit of a mixed bag and they ought to beat MAG who are naturally going to be trying to rectify the 25-5 scoreline from week2. In the other fixture bn are probably going to take home the victory as ARK have been plagued by roster problems and the result might be a default.
(17) SD:css2 v [CRO] (13)
(9) [MAG] v [D] (21)
ARK v [bn]
(19) [FP] v : |DoG| : (11)
They have noticed our recent great form in the CSSL but still felt we'd be easily beaten by [FP].
RESULT: DoG 25 v 5 [FP]
Another comforable 25-5 win, well played to all that played, and esp peanut who had a consitantly good week on train, shame hes inconsistant on every other map.
And also to Will, last time he played with us on train he managed to slay0r, he did rather better this time
Thats it so far,
Week 4 is on de_tuscan against SD:CSS2
I think that we may be favourites for the next game. We'll have to wait and see
